Tasmanian waterfalls are some of the best in the business, so we’ve put together a list of the Top 5 that’ll get you started.

# 5 Myrtle Gully Falls

Located in Hobart behind Cascade Brewery, these mythical waterfalls are only 15 mins away from the city centre.  Enjoy the views and the many other waterfalls within the vicinity of Mt Wellington National park.

How To Get There

Located at the end of Old Farm Road, there are several other tracks that begin from here.

Distance

1km – 10 mins of walking on an easy trail with very little grade changes.

# 4 Montezuma Falls

Located in towards the western coast of Tasmania, we arrive at Tasmania’s tallest waterfall at a whopping 104 metres.  The beauty of this walk is how up close and personal you can get. Be warned that you will not be dry after viewing it when it has received a bit of rain.  Bring a towel and extra clothing if you mind getting wet.

How To Get There

Located within Rosebery, it is approximately 36 mins away from Zeehan towards the northeast. Here are the Google Maps coordinates.

Distance

7kms return – easy grade, roughly 3-4 hours return depending on how long you admire it.

# 3 Lovers Falls

Located on the west coast of Tasmania is the beautifully quaint town of Corinna. There resides a waterfall only accessible by cruise or kayak. Lovers Falls is well worth the effort and the ambience is simply breathtaking.

How To Get There

Located within Corinna, west of Cradle Mountain National Park, just rent a kayak and go upstream!

Distance

4kms one way – lookout for a small set of stairs on the right-hand side as you kayak up. Venture towards the boardwalk and you shall be rewarded.

# 1 Horseshoe Falls

Located only 1 hour west of Hobart is Mount Field National Park, there lies a series of amazing waterfalls. This is my personal favourite as it was the first day the rain had stopped and I could finally appreciate a waterfall without being wet head to toe.

Enter Mount Field National Park and the track is well sign posted at the centre.

Distance

1km – 1hr of walking on an easy grade, this track gives you the opportunity to find 3 waterfalls: Russell Falls, Horseshoe Falls and Lady Barron Falls.
