Camping in Belanglo State Forest

The perfect getaway, quick and easy. No longer will you wrestle with the idea of distant lands providing solitude and escape. Belanglo State Forest is a prime location for an escape.

Located approximately an hour south of Sydney, Belanglo State Forest is a commercial pine plantation, covering roughly 2500 hectares.

Daly’s Clearing is the only designated campground in the forest and is just 5km from the Hume Highway. Surrounded by towering pines and a small catchment, Daly’s provides the perfect haven for an overnight escape or a week-long getaway. Daly’s Clearing is a very basic campground, with a single drop toilet and a handful of picnic tables.

What Belanglo State Forest lacks in flashy facilities, it makes up with its vast, still pine forests. The area is open to exploring – although there are no designated trails, there’s a web of bike tracks through the forest for guidance. Added bonus: Belanglo State Forest is also dog friendly!

Whether you’re looking to get away for a night or five, Belanglo State Forest is the perfect mix of secluded nature and absolute convenience, plain and simple.
