Twin Falls is a beautiful spot where you can really experience some of the best of Springbrook National Park, Queensland. Start your walk from either Tallanbana picnic area, or from Canyon Lookout. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the area and you will soon find yourself in the wonderfully lush and green rainforest.

The trail is fairly well signposted, and you’ll eventually go through a passage between a pair of giant rocks. There is a cool walk through a cave on the path which then goes behind the waterfalls. It’s a magical walk and there is nothing quite like looking up at the sky through a shining curtain of water. It really feels like an adventure with everything!

It is possible to swim in the pool at the base of the falls, although you’ll need to be careful on the rocks as they can be slippery. The water can be refreshingly cool in summer, or extremely cold depending on the time of year.

Depending on your fitness levels, you can just check out the view from the Canyon Lookout (30m), do the walk down to the waterfall and directly back to your starting point from Tallanbana picnic area or Canyon Lookout (around 1.5km), or you can do the full Twin Falls Circuit (4km). Whatever you decide to do, your visit to Twin Falls will be well worth the drive.

Essential gear required:

    • Suitable food, water and clothes as the weather can change very quickly.
    • Suitable footwear or hiking boots are recommended as parts of the trail are slippery.
    • Swimmers if you want to swim in the pool at the base of the falls.

How to get there:

Springbrook National Park is around 100km south of Brisbane, and is accessible from the Pacific Motorway via either Nerang or Mudgereeba. The road up to Springbrook is steep and windy, with little petrol available, so fill up before you go.
