Gorp lords and adventure fiends rejoice! The first Arc’teryx store in NSW has just opened in Bondi Junction, Sydney.

This is a big step for the hardy Canadian gear and apparel brand. Despite launching in 1989, the first Aussie store only opened in 2019, but the crew have seen rapid growth since then.

In the last few years trail running, rock climbing, and mountain biking have taken off in Australia. In fact, trail running has apparently grown 12% for the last ten years (check out our rapidly filling trail running page).

Ethical, Durable, Environmentally-Conscious

Everyone knows Arc’teryx gear isn’t cheap, but the brand backs up its prices by making gear that’s high performance and made to last. All of the clothes on sale are made using ethically and sustainably-sourced materials that are as tough as possible.

Possibly even more exciting is that ReBird will be accessible from the Bondi Junction store. The program allows for refurbishing of old garments, as well as recycling waste fabric into new products. Arc’teryx has already partnered with our mate Evan from Terra Rossa gear to bring some unique products to life.

The construction of the store itself was carbon neutral, as is every (free) delivery you place online.

A Community Hub

‘Our Sydney launch will allow us to explore the mountains, bush, and coastline of New South Wales, and continue to develop our range in line with what our community here really needs.’

– Hayden Stevens, Arc’teryx Australia Marketing Manager.

What’s on offer? So far a ski night, a group trail run and a bouldering party that went off a few weeks back at 9 Degrees Waterloo.

Arc’teryx is pumped to have an on-the-ground location in Sydney, not just because of how close it is to the coast AND the Blue Mountains, but because they know it leads to all kinds of real-world engagement with the outdoor community. In fact, apparently Arc’teryx sees Sydney as their new Australian hub. Pretty speccy hey?
