Step into Evan Howard’s workshop. There are pants blown out beyond repair, a Barc’teryx dog jacket made of upcycled down, and a bunch of sewing machines.

In Episode 4 of our YouTube Series Act Local Cam’s pulled up in Melbourne to chat with Evan about recycling and upcycling old adventure gear.

The result is functional handmade equipment that will take on new adventures. Think sleeping bags and quilts, tarps, bikepacking bags and hats.

‘We’re all going to have a footprint, and if I can just minimise that footprint a little bit, hopefully that helps towards something in the long term,’ says Evan.
