Feel the wind in your hair as you zoom through nature and stop in at world-class wineries on these epic new bike trails in one of Victoria’s famous wine regions, Rutherglen.

Four new bike trail loops have opened in one of Australia’s best wine regions, Rutherglen, Victoria, known as the Rutherglen Loops. The trails form 48km of sealed paths, concrete shared paths, and carefully planned on-road links to showcase the best of the region and encourage extended stays.

The Rutherglen Loops project marks a significant investment in tourism infrastructure for the region, offering a world-class cycling and walking experience that both locals and tourists can enjoy.

You can jump start the trails from Rutherglen, Wahgunyah, or Lake Moodemere trailheads. The loops cater to all different skill levels, ranging from a quick 4km circuit to the full 23km wine trail experience. The paths are mostly flat, with some small hills in the longer Wine Loop.

Take the Town Loop (4km) through Rutherglen’s Town Centre, the River Loop (4km) around along the banks of the Murray River, the Lake Loop (14km) around the iconic Lake Moodemere (a natural forming billabong), or the full Wine Loop (23km) to mix some adventure with wine tastings.
