There’ll soon be more ways to explore Victoria’s stunning High Country, with five new mountain bike trails coming to Mt Buller in 2026.

Five new mountain bike trails are coming to the Mt Buller and Mt Stirling trail network in Victoria’s High Country, adding to the existing 60km.

The 10km of new trails will cater to all levels of mountain biking, with two new beginner and family-friendly options and three new gravity trails, featuring jumps for the more adventurous. The trails will include new connections between Corn Hill access and Delatite River Trail, as well as an extension to Woollybutt and new beginner, intermediate, and advanced trails from Abom to the Plough Shed.

The trails will be delivered by the Victorian State Government in partnership with Alpine Resorts Victoria.

‘These new mountain bike trails are a fantastic drawcard for visitors to Victoria’s High Country, supporting local businesses, creating jobs, and showcasing the region’s natural beauty’, said Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes.

The new trails are set to attract more than 5,000 visitors in summer each year, with the hope that many will stay overnight to take on the extensive network.

Mt Buller recently hosted the National Mountain Biking Championships, with the 2026 championships also confirmed at Mt Buller. The expanded trail network is expected to attract more high-profile mountain biking events from across Australia.

‘Alpine Resorts Victoria thanks the Victorian Government for this investment in new trails, which will cement our position as a world-class mountain bike location’, said General Manager of Mt Buller and Mt Stirling at Alpine Resorts Victoria Allan Arthur.

‘These trails complete our vision for a network of modern and exciting riding options that appeal to both cross-country and gravity mountain bike disciplines.’

Construction is expected to be completed in April 2026, just in time for the Easter holiday season. You can find out more at the Mt Buller website.
