The Wilson’s Promontory Eastern Circuit Hike

A friend and I ventured down to Wilsons Promontory National Park (The Prom) on a Friday afternoon. It’s roughly a 3-hour drive south-east from Melbourne. We did the Eastern Circuit Hike, which starts at the Telegraph Saddle carpark and travels 10km over gorgeous hills and down through the lush rainforest to Sealers Cove.

We spent the first night there and were treated to a gorgeous clear night of stars and clear weather. The next day we hiked from Sealers Cove towards Little Waterloo Bay (13.4km), this was a tough day of hiking and we were very happy to be greeted by a gloriously sunny, warm afternoon at the bay, which we spent relaxing on the white sandy beach.

Little Waterloo Bay has to have one of the nicest beaches in Victoria, and on a nice warm day, it is very hard to beat. I spent the afternoon swimming and then photographing the beautiful sunset show that was put on for us. On Sunday morning we awoke in Little Waterloo Bay and made our way back to Telegraph Saddle to complete the Eastern Circuit Hike, 35.5km in total – a solid couple of days worth of hiking in the beautiful Wilsons Promontory National Park.
