Do you dream of a job that does something good for the world? These four people have created their own!

As we’ve travelled around Australia meeting local legends doing cool shit to protect the natural world, we’ve met a handful who have taken their local conservation efforts and turned them into a business. This has allowed them to spend more time doing the work they find important, and scale their business to have more impact.

In this episode of Act Local, we’re revisiting four of these interviews that inspired us and marvelled at the ingenuity of these local legends who are now business owners.

You’ll hear from Brad and Narelle of Transmutation who have found a solution for repurposing hard-to-recycle plastics and given them a new functional life, as well as Compostable Alternatives’ plan to save 1.8 billion coffee cups from landfill.

Pete Celignski walks us along the Seabin path that’s taken him from waste removal to impact data, before jumping into the backyard workshop of Evan Howard who brings new life to haggard adventure gear.
