Are you sick of your view from self-isolation yet? Looking for a change of scenery? Or maybe even an adrenaline rush? We’ve gathered up the best outdoor Aussie experiences you can have, online.

1. Fly Through a Rainforest Canopy

The Illawarra Fly sits atop the Illawarra Escarpment in NSW and peers down across farms and towns to the coast. Glide between the treetops of the rainforest canopy and look out across the beaches and bush that make up the Illawarra.

2. Tour the Great Barrier Reef with David Attenborough

Explore the Great Barrier Reef like never before, with the immense knowledge and passion of David Attenborough in your ear. The Great Barrier Reef is one of David’s favourite places on the planet, and it’s soon to be one of yours too.

3. Queensland 360 Tours

If diving deep below isn’t for you, maybe you’d prefer a bird’s eye view. Take your pick of hot Queensland coastline to soar above. From the Goldy to the tropical north, check out the sunshine state like you’ve never seen it before.

4. Spy on Koalas at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

The koala cams at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane pretty much let you sneak a peek of a bunch of cuddly koalas as they nap and yawn and stretch all day long. It may not make for the most thrilling footage, but it’ll damn sure be the cutest.

5. See The 12 Apostles From The Sky

It’s difficult to catch the 12 Apostles on a clear and calm day. But with this 360-degree aerial tour, it doesn’t matter if it’s rain, hail or snow outside. In fact, it doesn’t even matter where the bloody hell you are, as long as you’ve got a decent internet connection, you can check out the apostles from the sky.

6. Uluru Indigenous Tours

Tour one of Australia’s most iconic and sacred sites, Uluru, along with the entire Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park with a local Indigenous guide. Hear the Dreamtime stories about how the area was created (as well as the gurgling of magpies) as you make your way around the park.

7. Discover South Australia

South Australia ain’t silly. They’ve jumped on the virtual tour band wagon nice and early and brought the whole tourism industry with them. There are a bunch of beautifully shot videos of some of the top places to visit, in what’s now been dubbed ‘A state of relaxation’. Tune in and bliss out.

8. Tour Across Western Australia

WA makes up a whole third of Aus. So naturally, there’s a tonne of places to see. Explore it all through Virtually Australia. A brand spanking new online playground, dedicated to offering virtual taste tests of all the goods Aus has to offer. They’ve started with a few different tours in WA but will be expanding across the continent in coming weeks. Stayed tuned in!
