Earlier this week we reported that Underwater Forest Project was all wrapped up after having raised almost $25K for Operation Crayweed. But between you and me, something amazing happened. Cue The Wild Thornberry’s intro music.

Thanks to an incredibly generous donation of $18,000 from The Clarkson Foundation, the charitable arm of Clarksons Shipping Service, Underwater Forest Project managed to hit the final $42,000 target!

Christmas has come early at We Are Explorers HQ! An unending THANK YOU to The Clarkson Foundation for your support, we are PUMPED!

The Underwater Forest Project set out to raise $42,000 for Operation Crayweed, a Sydney-based not-for-profit that aims to revitalise Sydney’s crayweed forests, a vital part of the underwater ecosystem.

Thanks to the generous help of 240 supporters, we managed to hit our goal! We want to say an enormous thank you to everyone who contributed, shared the campaign across social media and told their mum, dad, sister, friend to donate – we couldn’t have done it without you!

100% of the money raised will go to Operation Crayweed to help replant an entire crayweed site off the coast of Sydney.

The perks that were offered on different donation levels by our partners, We Are Feel Good Inc, Athletic Brewing Co., Project Blank, and Costa Sunnies, will be sent out in the new year to those donors who scored some of the epic stuff on offer!

We’re working with Operation Crayweed to organise a community planting day in 2023 where the crayweed you all helped fund will be planted!

Invites will be sent out in the new year to all donors who gave more than $25 but RSVP quickly as numbers are capped.

So that’s a wrap! Another year, another awesome project that gives back to our Earth. Thank you to all of you who helped us achieve this, it’s been incredible.

Now, let’s go diving!
