The final 1.5km of mountain biking trail on the Thredbo Valley Track has just been completed and is ready to ride!

With this final addition to the lower Thredbo Valley Track, there’s now a combined 37.5km of world-class MTB trails to send in Kosciuszko National Park, from shorter rides suitable for the whole family, to longer, more technical trails for riders with experience.

The recently completed final section is family-friendly and extends from the Gaden Trout Hatchery to the Thredbo River picnic area. It’s also an improvement for walkers and fishers as it provides an elevated platform alongside the Thredbo River.

Keen for something longer? Frothy mountain bikers can take on a full day of riding by starting at Thredbo Village, riding to Bullocks Flat, onto Gaden Trout Hatchery before pedalling onto the fresh stretch of track and finishing up at the Thredbo River picnic area.

Riding the Thredbo Valley Track is an ideal way to experience the Snowy Mountains in summer, as the trail leads through Australia’s stunning alpine, across open grasslands, over seven scenic bridges, and alongside the Thredbo River. The trail is open from November to May, pending weather conditions.

Access to the track is free, although entry fees apply to explore Kosciuszko National Park.
