Are you qualified to take wombats on their silly little walk? Apparently someone’s gotta do it!

Tassie has a few odd jobs that need doing and is looking for some keen mainlanders to help out. The Apple Isle is hoping to entice workers on the 9-5 grind with excess annual leave to take a much-needed break and fill a temporary position down south. With the promise of creative stimulation and the chance to connect with local communities, culture, and nature.

We all know and love Tasmania for its unique biodiversity, stunning beauty, and extraordinary local produce and creativity. Well, this is your chance to integrate into local life there with a range of jobs to choose from that promise to be full of fun and excitement.

Tasmania is offering fun odd jobs this winter – this is life on Little Things Farm

A Unique Way to Take a Break

Each of these jobs is a unique volunteering opportunity over one or two days. They are designed by local Tasmanian businesses to immerse Australians in a more creative side of life than the regular working week entails. To take part in one of the ‘Odd Jobs’, you must make an application, and if successful even your travel expenses are covered!

Some of the jobs on offer promise a once-in-a-lifetime experience in nature. Wander the winter landscape as you help with the truffle harvest or wade through the waters of Great Oyster Bay as an Oyster Organiser. One of the most exciting jobs has to be the Wombat Walker. It turns out these little fluff balls need encouragement to exercise for their mental and physical help as they rehabilitate.
