Quipmo is a new Aussie start-up that’s helping explorer’s all over the world get their hands on the gear they want when they’re away from home.

If you’ve ever been keen to take your surfboard on a trip across the country but baulked at the thought of lugging it through airports and paying excessive baggage fees, this peer-to-peer gear rental site might just change the game.

Quipmo founder, Chris Evan, hates the thought of perfectly good outdoor gear going unused, or worse, an adventure not being taken because someone was missing the right equipment.

‘I thought, someone needs to make accessing quality gear for adventurers more efficient, affordable, and well, just easy!’ he said.

Enter, Quipmo – Equipment for the Moment

Quipmo allows local individuals and businesses to list their under-utilised outdoor gear and rent it to people keen on adventuring in the area.

Owners can set the price on a per hour, day, week, or month basis and travellers have the benefit of garages of epic gear available at their fingertips.

With thousands of listings across the world, finding any style of bike, surfboards for all skill levels, snow gear, and whacky watercraft is possible on Quipmo. There’s even a selection of adaptive equipment available to hire, such as a hand-cycle trike and beach wheelchair, so more people can get outside!

Quipmo listings are yet to reach all around Australia, but are most popular in the larger capital cities, in particular Perth and Brisbane.
