Our Limited Edition We Are Explorers X @nalgeneaus Our Limited Edition We Are Explorers X @nalgeneaustralia Bottles are ready for the trail!

There’s something deeply iconic about the wide mouth 1L Nalgene bottle.

Everyone who’s bought one still probably has it, because they’re borderline indestructible, and they bear the scars and stickers of years of adventures.

So, for our latest merch drop we took an OG 1L Nalgene bottle and covered it in a beautiful Aussie-bush design by @fabric_drawer.

Every year, the warm waters draw Humpback whales n Every year, the warm waters draw Humpback whales north past the @eurobodalla.

The annual migration, Muriyira, is a significant event for the traditional Walbunja people of the Yuin Nation.

In partnership with the Mason family and @blkfschstories, @eurobodalla have documented the meaning of the annual whale migration to the Yuin people in a film titled, Muriyira.

It includes the Walbunja people sharing their sacred family whale dance, that's known as a calling to the whales.

Sharon Mason reveals that the dance and song was created by her mother Vivienne.

“It’s close to our hearts.”

The dance is an intimate, sacred cultural celebration reserved mostly for ceremonial occasions with other big mobs. It is performed by the Djaadjawan Dancers.

Djaadjawan means “sand” in the local dhurga language.

Ashweeni Mason describes the meaning behind the movements in the dance. She explains how the dance is calling the whales in, welcoming them as they pass through gadu (ocean) country.

The dance concludes with a farewell to the whales as they continue on their journey south, some with new life, their babies.

“Before colonisation, we would have done songs and dances like that on the headland to welcome them in.

“To be a part of the revitalisation of that with my family, it’s so special, so lucky.”

You can follow our link in bio to learn more and watch Muriyira from the 1st of July.

The film has been created by @blkfschstories featuring Walbunja Custodians Sharon Mason and Ashweeni Mason and dancers Aunty Vivienne Mason, Ashweeni Mason, Arianna Landini and Megan Patten.

It looks equal parts funny, serious and deeply moving. It’s even narrated by @osher_gunsberg for crying out loud!
