Arguably Australia’s most famous multi-day walk, Tasmania’s Overland Track is open for bookings for the 2019/2020 season from the 1st July 2019. It’s likely to sell out faster than grubby hikers downing a beer at the end, so you better get booking pronto.

The iconic 65km, six-day hiking trail – full of lush forests, quaint huts, and epic views – will have a slight change this year. The Waterfall Valley Hut will be closed to walkers, with the Scott Kilvert Hut being used to accommodate walkers for night one of the hike instead.

The Waterfall Valley Hut is being replaced as part of Tasmania Parks & Wildlife Service’s three-year project to improve facilities across the trail.

The construction work will be happening from November 2019 – May 2020 and hikers are being warned there might be some construction noise through the Waterfall Valley area.
