A longer walk to South Head via Parsley Bay, Camp Cove, and Watsons Bay during winter will leave plenty of chances to spot whales between June and September.

This State Heritage-listed cottage was built in 1851 for John Reeve and is adorned with a terracotta tiled roof.

Capertee Homestead – ‘Port Macquarie’

Region: Country NSW

3.5 hours from Sydney, the historic Capertee Homestead, known as ‘Port Macquarie’, is found. This homestead is ideally suited for larger groups or a few families, accommodating up to 14 people.

Early morning and dusk are great times to spot wallabies, wombats, and kangaroos at the homestead. There’s plenty of time to connect with the surrounding nature with limited reception in the park. Wollemi National Park is also nearby, and its tunnels, canyons, and valleys can be experienced through HikeandSeek NSW, a licensed commercial tour operator with a Parks Eco Pass.
