Surf’s up on the Gold Coast! This week approval has been granted for the development of a world-class Surf Lagoon at Parkwood Village on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

The new Endless Surf Wave Lagoon will be the centrepiece of a $300 million redevelopment – transforming the Parkwood Village golf club into an integrated surf and golf resort.

Gold Coast locals and visitors alike will be able to enjoy the four-hectare, dual-zone surfing lagoon which is set to be completed in late 2026. It’ll be the Gold Coast’s first surf park and when conditions are perfect – always! – it’ll be the region’s ultimate uncrowded surf break.

Perfect Waves on the Gold Coast

President of Endless Surf, Paul Chutter, is excited by the development approval.

‘We are a huge step closer to bringing an unrivalled surf park experience to this global surf mecca. We know that Gold Coast surfers have big expectations, and we are ready to deliver pure perfection to Surfer’s Paradise,’ he said.

The Endless Surf Lagoon will have customisable waves to cater to surfers of all abilities – from beginners through to pros. It will serve up to 12-second rides in Split Peak (lefts and rights) and up to 25-second rides in Single Peak (left or right).

Part of a Planned Gold Coast Sports Hub

In addition to the Surf Lagoon, the development at Parkwood Village will include a multi-million dollar makeover to the 18-hole golf course as well as residential, hotel, retail, entertainment, and dining facilities. Plans are to make it the ultimate Gold Coast Sports Hub.

Managing Director of Parkwood Village, Luke Altschwager says, ‘There is nothing more quintessentially Australian than surfing and, complemented by the upgraded golf course and Titans training facilities, we want to make sure Parkwood becomes the heart of sport here on the Gold Coast’.

One thing’s for sure, if you’re a local surfer or golfer, this development is definitely going to bring a whole new level of stoke to the Gold Coast!
