How much would you pay to be dry on your next hike? What about on every hike? What about every time you step outside?’

Helly Hansen has an answer that might surprise you: $260.

That’s the cost of staying dry in their new Loke 2.0 Jacket, a 2.5-layer seam-sealed jacket that features their waterproof, breathable, and windproof HELLY TECH® Performance technology.

I checked out the new Helly Hansen Loke 2.0 jacket and made sure it has two of the must-haves in any waterproof jacket:

  1. Fully Seam Sealed – Every seam is sealed to prevent water from sneaking in, ensuring complete waterproof protection from head to hem.
  2. Multi-Layer Construction – I’d always look for a minimum 2-layer construction when it comes to waterproofing. This jacket has a 2.5-layer construction, a durable outer layer, and a protective membrane inside that shields you from the elements.

Tick and tick.

On top of these features, it has a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment, which’ll keep the water beading off the outer layer for longer.

The front storm flap also provides an extra layer of defence from the elements and, dare I say, makes the jacket more ‘smart casual’ in an urban setting, compared to a visible zip.

This is helped by the fact that the Loke 2.0 Jacket is available in black, as well as ‘Alert Red’ and ‘Cyan’, which are both as bright as their names suggest.

The Loke Jacket 2.0 isn’t just about keeping you dry; it’s also packed with plenty of practical features. The two mesh-lined hand pockets are roomy enough to store essentials, and the water-resistant zippers prevent any moisture from seeping in. Inside, you’ll find a mesh pocket that’s great for storing anything from an extra layer to gloves or a beanie.

An external hanging loop behind the hood adds another level of convenience for storing or airing out the jacket when you’re not wearing it.

The adjustable bottom hem allows you to tighten or loosen the jacket for a better fit, while the adjustable cuffs help to lock in warmth and keep rain from creeping up into your sleeves.

The updated 2.0 now even includes a RECCO reflector, a lightweight emergency tool that can help rescuers find you in the event of an avalanche. That’s pretty rare in this price bracket!

In a La Nina world, where rain jackets can set you back $500 or more, the Loke 2.0 jacket makes for a great investment, whether in the bush, bustling streets, or even resort skiing, it offers affordable protection. If you’ve been putting it off, just grab a Loke 2.0 Jacket now and never have to check the forecast again.*

*But, maybe do. HELLY TECH® ain’t hail-proof.
