The Great Vic Bike Ride is a rolling bike festival! The 9 day, 540km journey is a fully-supported pedal-powered campout along some of Victoria’s best roads, and there are options for everyone.

Hold onto your helmets! The legendary Great Vic Bike Ride is set to roll from the 25th of November to the 3rd of December in 2023.

This year’s journey takes you from the lush greenery of Orbost all the way to the coastal charm of Wonthaggi, meandering through Gippsland’s top spots like Buchan, Lakes Entrance, Paynesville, Sale, Port Albert and Fish Creek. It’s a ripper route through Victoria’s stunning countryside that’s got everything – rivers, lakes, beaches, you name it.

‘It’s a fun, friendly, and challenging holiday’, says Caitlin Borchers, Bicycle Network’s General Manager of Events. But it’s much more than a ride, it’s a rolling bike festival! Each campsite is chockers with things to do, from live music and food trucks to yoga and an outdoor cinema. How good!

‘Gippsland has some of the best bike riding in Australia: gentle gradients, quiet country back roads and scenery to die for – making it ideal for bike riders of all levels’, says Borchers.

Can’t take the whole week off? No worries! You can join the ride for the first five days from Orbost to Sale, or join the tail-end crew for the final three days from Sale to Wonthaggi.
