The first ever trail race along the Blue Mountains’ new Grand Cliff Top trail is happening this April.

The inaugural Grand Cliff Top Race, hosted by Blue Mountains Tourism, will take place across the iconic Blue Mountains escarpment on Sunday the 12th of April, 2026.

What to Expect in the Grand Cliff Top Race

The 17.5km trail will take runners and walkers (yep, both are welcome!) from the Charles Darwin Walk in Wentworth Falls to Scenic World in Katoomba while traversing ancient sandstone cliffs, offering sweeping views of the Jamison Valley below, and navigating bushy trails.

Both ends of the trail are accessible by train and participants are encouraged to travel by public transport to and from the event.

Part of the $135 entry fee will go towards supporting sustainable growth of tourism in the Blue Mountains.

‘The Grand Cliff Top Race is about connecting people to place’, said Blue Mountains Tourism General Manager Lou Clifton.

‘It’s an opportunity to experience one of NSW’s most spectacular escarpment walks while directly contributing to the sustainable future of the Blue Mountains visitor economy. Every entry gives back’, she said.

The number of participants is capped for environmental reasons and to ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience, so register early!
