Are you interested in helping shape the face of Aussie-owned performance sportwear? Fractel is launching an equity crowdfunding campaign and expressions of interest are now open!

After seeing 100% growth year on year, Fractel Founder and Director Matt Niutta hopes to leverage the start-up’s reputation as a premium and sustainable choice in outdoor gear to attract a wider community of outdoor enthusiasts.

‘Fractel is more than a brand; it’s a testament to the power of resilience and the spirit of adventure’, Matt says.

The equity crowdfunding campaign will officially open on February 28th 2024, but you can already register your interest to be involved, with investments for individuals starting from $250.

What is Fractel?

Fractel is an Australian start-up founded by Matt Niutta who discovered his passion for running after a diagnosis of Retinitis Pigmentosa left him legally blind and unable to drive. Inspired by the community he discovered as a runner, Matt started making premium innovative and sustainable headwear from 100% recycled fabrics.

Fractel is also a member of 1% for the Planet, which means it gives 1% of its sales back to organisations that protect the environment.

‘We created Fractel because we wanted to prove that we could create a community-powered brand that balances people, planet, and profits’, Matt says.

The brand has become a sportswear leader and now Matt is ready to take Fractel to the next level by expanding into performance apparel and moving into a global market.

‘Our mission is to revolutionise performance sportswear for a community that loves to run and chase adventure, and our equity crowdfunding campaign is a pivotal step towards achieving this vision’, Matt said.

Matt knows that it’s the support of the Fractel community that’s helped the brand get to where it is today. What better way to say ‘thanks’ than by allowing the community to become part of the business? It’s a great way to raise funds while acknowledging the contribution already given by the people who love the products.

What is equity crowdfunding?

Equity crowdfunding is a way for start-ups and early-stage ventures to get financial support. When you invest money into the business, you then get an ownership stake, making it a great way for the community to support their favourite brand while giving a financial kick to the small business as well.

It’s worth noting that equity crowdfunding shares are a riskier investment as the companies are generally young and chasing growth. The shares also can’t be sold, you can only profit from an IPO on the stock market, share buyback, the business being sold, or the company deciding to pay dividends – it’s a long term investment in a company you believe will be successful.
