After closures due to damages from the 2019/20 bushfires, Ebor Falls is once again accessible to Explorers in the New England tablelands. $5.5 million has been injected to revitalize the facilities of this iconic waterfall from the ashes.

A new wheelchair-accesible viewing platform at the Upper Falls Precinct will act as the ‘welcome mat’ to the region where visitors can marvel at the Guy Fawkes River plunging 120-metre down into cascading waterfalls. Soak in the mist and sheer force of the falls in comfort with dedicated seating areas and picnic shelters with BBQ facilities. Explorers can also stroll into charming Ebor village from the waterfall via the 700m refurbished walking track.

Also known as Martiam by the traditional Gumbaynggirr people, meaning ‘the great falls’, the multi-step waterfall in Ebor is one of NSW’s best attractions when exploring the Waterfall Way route in NSW’s Northern Tablelands.

There’s no better place to visit this holiday season

‘Ebor Falls is widely considered to be one of the best multi-tiered waterfalls in NSW‘, says Dirk Richards, Principal Project Officer of National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS). ‘It has long been a beloved destination for both locals and tourists, known for its stunning waterfalls and picturesque scenery.’

The waterfall is located in Guy Fawkes River National Park, an area known for its incredible biodiversity, including endangered plant and animal species such as the Brush-tailed rock wallaby. In summer, daisies bloom around the Upper Falls Precinct and rare orchids flower.

If you’re itching for a scenic road trip this summer, take the Waterfall Way route and add Ebor Falls to your itinerary.
