This Tuesday 4th of March, donate the cost of your cuppa to raise money for Bush Heritage Australia and help give nature a much-needed pick-me-up.

What’s Cuppa for the Bush?

The Cuppa for the Bush campaign is an annual fundraiser by Bush Heritage Australia that asks Australians to donate the cost of a daily cuppa to the not-for-profit’s conservation efforts.

This year Bush Heritage aims to raise $250,000 to fund conservation projects across the organisation.

‘Our natural landscapes and wildlife are in real need of urgent help’, said Bush Heritage Australia CEO Rachel Lowry. ‘That can feel very overwhelming to a lot of people, but Cuppa for the Bush gives people the chance to take a daily habit – having a cuppa – and turn it into a small but impactful contribution for nature.’

Bush Heritage Australia is on a mission to double its impact by 2030, by protecting, restoring, and regenerating 30 million hectares of land – that’s bigger than Victoria!

How does the Cuppa for the Bush Day work?

Cuppa for the Bush launches on Tuesday 4th of March from 7am to 7pm, and all you need to do is enjoy a cuppa during that time and make a donation.

Starting at $5, the average cost of a coffee, every dollar you donate will be matched by a group of major donors which helps every donation go further.

The money raised will go towards the purchase of conservation materials. Here’s a breakdown of how the fundraising will work:

$5 = a native seedling for future revegetation projects.
$35 = a nest box for a native parrot to call home
$70 = two mammal nest boxes for species like pygmy possums
$150 = helps purchase a sound recorder to help find and protect endangered birds
