An Antidote to Climate Doomism

Across six episodes in Season 3, Big Sky Country offers up a raft of powerful solutions to the climate crisis that are hiding in plain sight – in nature itself.

The podcast is hosted by Tiahni Adamson, a proud descendant of the Kaurareg Nations in the Torres Strait, a wildlife biologist, and Young South Australian of the Year 2024.

Across thousands of kilometres of bush, from turtle tracks off the Kimberley coast, to the ancient, towering forests of Lutruwita/Tasmania, Tiahni introduces us to scientists, Traditional Custodians, and experts working on the frontlines of climate change. Expect to hear from the likes of zoologist, Chris Daniels; Noongar Elder, Lester Coyne; scientist, Dr Rebecca Spindler; and activist, Dr Bob Brown.

Individually, they share what they’ve witnessed while working with nature, from destruction to resilience, and together paint a picture of hope that nature holds many answers to the overwhelming question of the climate crisis.

Even if an area is destroyed, it’s desolate, it’s in horrendous condition. Doesn’t mean it can’t recover. One of the great lessons that nature keeps telling us is, “Give us a chance. Let us come back”,’ says zoologist Chris Daniels.

The last episode of Season 3 just dropped, so now you can listen to the full series, uninterrupted. Why not start now?
