AllTrails has released its Year on the Trails report – and revealed the four Aussie trails that captivated Explorers in 2023!

 

AllTrails has reviewed its global hiking data from 2023 to find the world’s top trails, as rated by AllTrails users. The Year on the Trails report reveals which trails around the world hikers loved the most in 2023 across seven different categories; most outstanding, most athletic, most beautiful, rookie of the year, family favourite, the all-nighter, and most fun for all.

Four Aussie trails were so highly rated by AllTrails users that they featured in the report – including the Kings Canyon Rim Walk which was ranked as the fourth most popular trail out of over 250,000 trails reviewed globally!

‘The 2023 Year on the Trails report allows us to celebrate an exciting year of discovery and adventure’, said Carly Smith, Chief Marketing Officer at AllTrails.

‘Our global community of trail-goers shared valuable insights about their time outside by reviewing more than 250,000 trails, from Peru to Switzerland and from Canada to Australia,’ she said.

Four Aussie trails made the top four trails globally across the seven categories. And three of them were in the NT!

  1. United States, Durango, Colorado: Island Lake and Ice Lake via Ice Lakes Trail
  2. Canada, Lake Louise, Alberta: Lake O’Hara Alpine Circuit
  3. Iceland, Skógar, Southern: Skógafoss -Skálabrekkufoss Waterfalls
  4. Australia, Kings Canyon, Northern Territory: Kings Canyon Rim and Creek Walks via Cotterills Lookout
