AllTrails Peak has launched today as the most comprehensive and premium membership from AllTrails, as the trail app expands its features across the board.

Born on a team hike in Yosemite National Park, AllTrails Peak is the pinnacle (pardon the pun) of AllTrails membership offerings, packed with new features made to help people have even better adventures.

‘After more than a year in the making, we’re excited to put our 2025 Summer Update in the hands of our community’, says AllTrails’ CEO, Carly Smith.

What’s new with AllTrails Peak?

AllTrails Peak encompasses all the features Explorers know and love about AllTrails Plus, but takes the user experience even higher (you seeing a theme with these puns yet?).

AllTrails Peak members can build custom routes, whether they start from scratch, customise existing trails, or use AI to ‘smart-route’ a trail by shortening it, skipping the steep section, or detouring to somewhere more scenic.

The community heatmap allows AllTrails Peak members to see trail traffic data and determine where the best place for them to hike is – amongst the crowds, or somewhere a little quieter?

The trail conditions feature provides users with weather info along the trail, like temperature, precipitation, snow depth, air quality, and mosquito activity – essentially it’s an in-built weather app that draws from over 10 million data points to provide info on 15 different weather factors.

Finally, the outdoor lens lets users scan almost anything they see in nature, like a tree, flower, or insect, and instantly identifies it and provides handy info. AllTrails saves each identification to a logbook that can be revisited.

Updated Features for Everyone!

But that’s not all folks, AllTrails is bringing over 500,000 mapped points of interest to all AllTrails users. From landmarks and viewpoints to amenities on the trail.

For AllTrails Plus members, the downloadable offline maps function will expand to allow users to customise the area downloaded, no longer restricting downloads to specific trails or parks.

New points of interest are logged on trails worldwide for all users to access
