Western Australia just landed some fresh campgrounds, so chuck the tent in the boot and let’s take a trip!

Just a 2.5 hour drive north of Perth, the WA Parks and Wildlife Service has opened two new campgrounds in the Jurien Bay area.

Karda Campground is near Lesueur National Park where you can spot all sorts of gorgeous native wildflowers. It features;

  • 31 campsites
  • Suitable for all types of camping
  • Each site has its own picnic table and firepit
  • Roads are unsealed but still 2WD accesible

Karda Campground is $11 a night for adults, $7 for concession and $3 for kids.

Wanagarren Campground is situated right by the crystal waters of Jurien Bay Marine Park in Wanagarren Nature Reserve. If you like waking to the sounds of lapping waves, this campground’s made for ya! It features;

  • 15 campsites
  • 4WD access only
  • Suitable for self-sufficient campers only – must have a portable chemical toilet on board!

Wanagarren Campground is $8 a night for adults, $6 for concession and $3 for kids.

The Parks and Wildlife Service is also working on a new 27km walking trail in Lesueur National Park that treks through valleys, woodland and over hills, with plans to have it complete by the end of the year. The trail features Yonga Campground, a walk-in campground around halfway (perfect for a cheeky overnighter) with three camp platforms, a shelter and a toilet.

Sounds like an epic new hike to tackle! Add it to that ever-growing list!
