If you’re starting to get desperate for a change of scenery, Tassie may have just come to your rescue.

The Tasmanian Premier Peter Gutwein has just announced that the island state plans to reopen its borders to the mainland from July 24th, depending on how the pandemic develops over the next four weeks. Ancient forests and wild and woolly mountains here we come!

The reopening plan will be assessed each week in the lead up to July 24th, especially in regards to the ongoing breakout in Victoria.

There are discussions between the state government and airlines to open up direct routes from COVID-19 free states to Tasmania.

Although it may be a little chilly down there this time of year, ain’t no one complaining about having a whole new state to explore! And there’s no shortage of adventures to be had in Tassie.

Need some inspo? We’ve got all your wintry wonderland vibes sorted.
