Hey there! Are you looking for an article on South Australia’s newest national park? Here it is!

Steep Reflections is a soon-to-be-released local film about the underrated beauty of the Aussie Alps and those who are working to protect it – and The North Face is hosting a bunch of exclusive premieres around the country next month.

The crisp chill of the snow season is starting to set in and The North Face is hosting a handful of Winter Kick-Offs to get people frothing the change of season, but also to reflect on the fragility of winter as we know it in Australia. And you’re invited!

Each event includes an exclusive screening of Steep Reflections, a local film shot in the Kosciuszko backcountry by Cameron ‘Woody’ Wood, that aims to bring greater awareness to the beauty of Australia’s backcountry slopes and to spark action around the need to protect them.

With appearances by the Thredbo Guides Team, Protect Our Winters (POW), Alpine Access Australia, and Mountain Safety Collective (MSC), Steep Reflections aims to change the way Aussies perceive their own backyard. Give it a squiz!

At each Winter Kick-Off, the film will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmakers, Cameron Wood, Daygin Prescott, and Henry Smith, as well as ambassadors for POW and MSC. It’s a great way to meet some likeminded winter crew before getting stuck into the snow season.

Here’s where to catch an event and screening near you!
