The Queensland Government’s announced a plan to reopen its borders to fully vaxxed visitors from COVID hotspots in time for Christmas!
Today Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk outline the state’s roadmap to reopening to COVID hotspots including NSW and VIC, and it’s just in time for a sunny summer up north!
The three key milestones that form the plan are;
70% of Queenslanders fully vaxxed – Expected on November 19th
Fully vaxxed visitors from COVID hotspots must;
- Arrive by air only
- Test negative to COVID-19 within 72 hours of leaving
- Complete 14 days of home quarantine
80% of Queenslanders fully vaxxed – Expected on December 17th
Fully vaxxed visitors from COVID hotspots must;
- Arrive by air or road
- Test negative to COVID-19 within 72 hours of leaving
- No quarantine will be required
90% of Queenslanders fully vaxxed
- No border restrictions or quarantine for fully-vaxxed visitors
Queensland’s vaccination rates are still catching up to NSW and VIC, with around 56% of the eligible population currently fully vaxxed.
