Have you ever been out on a hike, in the middle of woop-woop, looked around at the path you’re on and thought ‘How the hell did they make this?!’ and ‘Who chooses which way the path goes?’

This week’s episode of the We Are Explorers Podcast might give you a bit of insight.

Simon French is a Tassie bloke who designs and builds hiking and mountain bike tracks around the world through his company Dirt Art. In fact, Simon is the brains behind the mountain biking playground, Maydena Bike Park, in Tassie’s Derwent Valley.

Once a competitive mountain biker himself, Simon knows his way around the dirt and dust of a biking trail. Dirt Art has worked on creating hiking and biking trails from China to the Gold Coast and down to the Grampians

Henry chats to Simon about how to create the best trails while respecting environmental and cultural heritage and building a business and life around what you love.
