Today Perisher Ski Resort has announced that thanks to an early dumping of snow, the slopes will be open a week ahead of schedule – that means lifts will be spinning from THIS SATURDAY!

Australia’s south and east have been absolutely punished with icy blasts on the first day of winter, but it’s good news for all snow fiends who have the chance to get in an extra weekend on the slopes.

Perisher Ski Resort has already seen a healthy 30cm dump of the white stuff, with plenty more on the forecast so has decided to throw open its doors early.

What exactly will be open?

From 8:30am Saturday 4th June, the Village 8 Express Chairlift, Mitchell T-Bar, and Carpet #4 will start loading for skiing on the Front Valley areas only.

In terms of facilities available, Perisher retail stores will be open from 8am-5pm, and Jax Bar and Grill will fill your belly and quench your thirst from 8am until the lifts close.

Need to hire some gear? Snowsports Rentals will open its doors at 7:30am, but rentals should be purchased online and in advance.

Unfortunately, both the Skitube and the Snowsports School won’t be running just yet, but private lessons will start again on June 11th, and group lessons June 18th.

What do I need to hit the slopes on Saturday?

If you’ve got your Epic Australia Pass at the ready you’ll be able to head straight to the slopes!

Anyone else keen to start snow sliding will need to purchase their lift ticket online and in advance.
