We Are Explorers are proud as punch to share LIMITLESS, a short film documenting the remarkable story of all-time adventurer, tetraplegic and Making Trax Founder, Jezza Williams. We Are Explorers Founder, Henry Brydon caught wind of Jezza’s story whilst traversing New Zealand earlier this year. ‘I was chatting to a blueberry farmer near Nelson over a glass of wine and a bowl of blueberries. The conversation turned to her friend Jezza – the accident, his recovery and mission to help others. For days it was all I could think about; I felt an urge to explore his wild story and share it with the world.’ – Henry, We Are Explorers Founder Quicker than you can say ‘choice as bro’, Henry and filmmaker Hayden Griffith were on a flight to Christchurch to meet Jezza and spend some time documenting his unbelievable story. A Life Without Adventure? Jezza is the definition of an adventurer. He’s always lived life teetering on the edge, literally more often than not. Extreme adventure fuels his life – white-water rafting, skiing, kayaking, skydiving, canyoning and paragliding – he’s guided and explored through some of the most remote locations on earth. But back in 2010, Jezza’s life changed seismically. While guiding a canyon tour in the Swiss Alps, Jezza broke his neck and was in a coma for four weeks. He emerged a C5 tetraplegic and became dependent on others just to survive. Making Plans & Making Trax Once Jezza decided to get back in the kayak and jump out of the plane, he was shocked to realise how few opportunities and facilities are available for people with disabilities to access adventure sports. Not one to sit around and dwell, Jezza took action – Making Trax was born. Making Trax helps adventure companies create trips and purchase equipment that make adventures accessible for people with disabilities, as well as running many of their own accessible trips. Jezza has a new understanding of the struggles other people face and a fresh drive in life – to help others unlock the power inside themselves to become limitless. ‘I've never met anyone like Jezza before. Hayden and I hung out with him in his hometown of Waipara. We joined him on his adventures and spent time with his carers. This immense positivity emits from him – a limitless optimism and thirst for life. His story goes way beyond the walls of disability.’ – Henry, We Are Explorers Founder LIMITLESS premieres on Facebook this Thursday at 7.00pm AEST. Watch LIMITLESS been selected to be screened at the Port Fairy Adventure Film Festival happening in Port Fairy, Vic from 8-10 November.
