Matthew McConaughney has designed a tent especially for the Aussie wilderness and there’s only 150 of ‘em in the world!

As the Creative Director of Wild Turkey, Matthew McConaughey gets to do a bunch of fun stuff. A few years ago he designed a tiny home with Unyoked, and this year, he’s teamed up with Homecamp to craft a limited edition and homely tent for the Aussie bush.

It’s all a part of Wild Turkey’s With Thanks initiative – projects to encourage Aussies to get out into the wild, all while saying ‘Cheers mate!’ to the people who work tirelessly to protect it. In this case, the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife, which is where a portion of the money from all the purchased tents will go.

‘No one knows the Australian wilderness better than Aussies themselves,’ McConaughey said. ‘During my time in Australia, I was always in awe of the deep level of knowledge and appreciation Aussies had for the great outdoors.’

McConaughey hopes his freshly designed digs will inspire Aussies to get back out to the bush we know and love.

What makes McConaughey’s tent so special?

Good question!

Matthew McConaughey himself made all the decisions about it, right down to the individual colour.

He’s included a matching cooler bag to help keep your Wild Turkey Discovery Series cans cool, emblazoned the tent with its very own bespoke batch number (much like a true whiskey), and his iconic quote ‘Check out to check in’ across the front door.

And to help you drift off to sleep even under the glow of the full moon, McConaughey included a series of campfire stories he narrated himself. Just unlock via QR code on the outside of the tent.

The tent itself can sleep two adults comfortably, with space for up to a queen size sleeping mattress, plus gear!

Sounds ripper! How do I get myself one?

The tents are available for pre-order from today at $949 a pop, but with only 150 of them left in the wild of the internet, who knows how long they’ll last. Don’t sleep on it!

A portion of the proceeds of each tent purchased will go to the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife to help support the ongoing bushfire regeneration.

The 150th tent is going to be auctioned off, with the winning bid being donated to the Foundation as well.
