The multi-day Light to Light hike in Ben Boyd National Park is set to reopen just in time for summer!

After suffering severe damage from the New Years Eve bushfire that hit the NSW South Coast, the Light to Light trail in Ben Boyd National Park has slowly been repaired and reopened a section at a time.

From 1st November 2020, the final section of the hike, from Saltwater Creek to Boyds Tower, is set to reopen, completing the 30km trail. Summer coastal hiking, here we come!

The hike’s traditionally completed over 2-3 days, with plenty of places to spend the night, either at set drive-in campgrounds or quieter hike-in bush camps. However, Hegarty’s bush camp will remain closed for the foreseeable future to allow for regeneration of the site.

The trail hugs the coastline, clambers over bright red rock platforms, and traverses a range of environments, from tea tree groves to endless, empty beaches. Start planning that summer holiday hike!
