SBS’s latest nature-inspired TV series sees Julia Zemiro traverse her way around the country on foot.

Great Australian Walks with Julia Zemiro premieres on SBS and SBS On Demand on Thursday 10th of August and is a new ten-part series that takes viewers (that’s you) on a striding journey around Australia.

Each episode sees Logie-nominated actor, presenter, comedian, and all-round queen, Julia Zemiro, take on a memorable and noteworthy walk across NSW, VIC, ACT, and TAS, with a bunch of special guests in tow.

The series covers a variety of walks from the peaks of Mount Wellington and the Blue Mountains to the beaches of Byron Bay and Point Nepean, and even inner-city strolls in both Sydney and Melbourne.

On each journey, Julia’s joined by a multitude of guests, from First Australians to some of our newest Australians, historians, musicians, athletes, and creatives.

Each episode unpacks the history, geography, and culture of the area and walk, as well as little-known stories and tidbits too.

They [the walks] encompass the grandness of our landscapes right down to the tiny details – from high above rainforest canopies down to the tiny insects on the ground that sustain life itself. We explore coast, inland, country, and urban walks and I’m so thrilled to share them with you,’ Julia said.

‘Remember: Everything is in walking distance, if you make the time.’

Each episode will also feature an alternate walk that’s both accessible and achievable in a single day in collab with Bruce Elder, a veteran walks expert and former Sydney Morning Herald travel journo.

Great Australian Walks with Julia Zemiro premieres at 7:30pm on Thursday 10th of August on SBS and SBS on Demand. The show will offer subtitles in Arabic, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean.
