In a Double Header, we explore two truly remarkable trail runs: a full circumference of Easter Island vs a 3-day loop of WA’s Cape Range NP!

Trail running is a pursuit that absolutely screams ‘Adventure!’ Using only their own two feet, dedicated runners explore places on this planet that few can access, and even fewer bother to do so. Such are the stories of Dan Slater and Dave Byrne.

Travel writer and congenital globetrotter Dan woke up one morning with a truly ‘out there’ idea – he’d be the first man to run the 70km circumference of Easter Island, for no reason whatsoever. If he’d known what that dream would actually involve, he’d have gone straight back to sleep!

Dave’s 192km journey was more considered – he wanted to bring attention to recent changes around Ningaloo and the Cape Range National Park in WA, but also gain an understanding of the local indigenous connection to country, and their hopes for the future. It’s a wild landscape that led to a remarkable experience.
