Just a four-hour drive north of Brisbane is Bundaberg, an ECO-Certified destination celebrating its connection to culture, proximity to the Southern Great Barrier Reef, and world-renowned turtle activity with the annual Milbi Festival.

From Friday 25 October to Sunday 3 November, this year’s Milbi Festival promises a captivating array of immersive events, illuminating experiences, and native feasts that showcase the unique heritage and natural beauty of the Bundaberg Region.

The 10-day festival marks the beginning of turtle season on the Southern Great Barrier Reef when Bundaberg’s world-renowned coastline and islands come alive with nesting and hatchling turtles.

With the glistening ocean as his backdrop, Australia’s Got Talent star Mitch Tambo will take to the stage for the Sunset Launch on Friday 25 October. A proud Gamilaraay man, Mitch blends traditional Aboriginal sounds and language with contemporary beats and production, sharing a soulful and captivating connection to Country.

On Friday 1 November, the funky electro-pop hits of iconic 2000’s group Sneaky Sound System will fill the air of Alexandra Park on the Burnett River for crowd-favourite Sunset Sounds.

In between, the program will be filled with a broad variety of events across the region to delight the entire family, including breakfasts with the animals, art exhibitions, reef days out, and more, that will showcase the dynamic talent and stunning surrounds to be found in the Eco-Certified Bundaberg Region.

The festival also offers a deep dive into local culture with activities like the Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow Tour, Bundy Belle Taribelang River Cruise, Weaving Garden, and Gurang Ghurri Community Cricket Match.
