If you’ve ever dreamed of being able to find your own way in the bush, break through the invisible walls beside tracks and step off the well-formed trail, to become an explorer and discover your own adventure, this trip will give you the opportunity to learn from the best, from none other than Caro Ryan from LotsaFreshAir, author of ‘How to Navigate’. Over the space of six days, you’ll learn first hand some of the skills essential for off and on track navigation and build your confidence in finding your way in the bush and making wise decisions in an outdoor environment.

With its mesmerising mix of spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife and Aboriginal and European history, Flinders Island is the gem in the crown of island walking in Tasmania and the perfect setting for this exclusive departure. Designed for bushwalkers, hikers and explorers alike with little or no experience in map and compass navigation who want to cover the basics, you’ll be sure to come away with the intermediate skills associated with traditional navigation methods.

Over this diverse and rewarding walking and navigation-themed itinerary, you will experience the rugged peaks and sweeping coast lines of this windswept island, taking the time to swim in the crystal clear waters and photograph the endless picture perfect vistas. You have the opportunity to summit the dramatic granite peaks of both Mt Killiecrankie and Mt Strzelecki, the second of which is the highest point on the island at 756m, giving you spectacular 360 degree views of Flinders Island in its entirety.

If that wasn’t enough, at the end of each day you’ll get to retire to the comfort of Tasmanian Expeditions’ exclusive Eco-Comfort Camp which is big on comforts but small on environmental impacts.

With scenic flights included from Launceston, you are only a hop, skip and a jump away from your next unforgettable adventure in Tasmania.
