Around ten years ago, Beau Miles set off from his home, shoeless, foodless, and waterless, to walk 90km to work. This was his first ever backyard adventure, and it changed his life forever.

Some of the footage of Beau’s original walk to work has been sprinkled throughout the short film ‘Walking 90km to Work’, which has over a million views on YouTube. But the trek that film follows was actually a recreation of Beau’s first walk. He was giving a university lecture on adventure and wanted to arrive in, ya know, an adventurous way.

So the entirety of Beau’s original walk to work journey has never seen the light of the internet – until now.

This film showcases the rough and risk-taking Beau Miles we all fell in love with and sees him make some of the most questionable roadside rescues to date. I literally recoiled from the screen when he found the pair of swamp slippers.

More impressive than the distance Beau walks and the conditions he forces himself to do it in, is the strength of his immune system.

Tuck in! This one is well worth a watch. And here’s cheers to ten years of backyard adventures!
