All aboard! The Explorer Bus is hitting the road to bring you stories of grassroots conservationists in our brand-new YouTube series, Act Local.

You’ve heard the phrase, ‘Think Global, Act Local’ when conserving our natural world, but what does acting local look like?

To find out, Explorer Cameron Doyle is cruising the East Coast of Australia to meet the legends getting their hands dirty and having a positive environmental impact in their local communities.

The first stop: Victoria’s Wombat State Forest.

Cam headed along to a For Wild Places event, where he caught up with FWP Founder and CEO Hilary McAllister to learn how running can protect Australia’s wild places.

We’re certain there are many, many more eco-warriors out there, so if you know a local legend we should visit, let us know in the comments!

Wanna get involved?

If that sparked a fire in your belly keep it stoking and claim your spot on the upcoming For Wild Places Camp!

From 1st -4th of June 2023, join the For Wild Places crew and a lineup of leading activists, athletes, and adventurers on a mentor camp at Victoria’s stunning Mt Hotham.

Registrations close 22nd of May so hop, skip, and jump to it! There are also three fee-free scholarships for people who are keen to attend but aren’t in a financial position to do so.
