Alpine heads get your teeth into this; Mountain Sports Collective is launching a free introductory course to Advanced Backcountry, they’re calling it ‘Slay Safe’.

Ever dreamed of getting beyond the groomed runs and chairlifts of the mountains, and out into the untouched powder and wild terrain of the backcountry? Want to immerse yourself into the world of split boarding and skinning?

The ‘Slay Safe’ course is the perfect first step into developing the skills needed to take on the unpatrolled regions of the mountains. The course will cover backcountry skiing, boarding and alpine climbing. Run over two nights, it’s broken up into four modules: travelling in the snow, avalanche terrain, living in the snow and emergencies, covering all the introductory basics to get you on your way towards exploring backcountry.

Where’s Slay Safe Running?

The course will be run at Mount Stirling, Falls Creek, Mount Hotham and Main Range with dates ranging from June – September. There are limited spots to each event so jump over to register your interest.
