On Gubbi Gubbi Country, the Sunshine Coast Kokoda Challenge begins in Kenilworth, a quaint country town. Teams venture into Imbil State Forest, climbing rugged mountains and wading through rivers. Near this forest, in the Blackall Ranges, Diggers were trained in jungle warfare before deployment overseas, many never returning.

Whether it’s the 18km, 30km, or 48km distance your team chooses, the Kokoda Spirit’s four pillars—courage, endurance, mateship, and sacrifice—are crucial. These values, exhibited by Kokoda Veterans in 1942, propel you and your teammates through the hills, heat, and hardships of the Kokoda Challenge course.
