Join the Surfrider Foundation Australia and thousands of others in taking a stand against the world’s largest proposed seismic blasting permit – which intends to search for gas along the coastlines of Victoria and Tasmania.

The seismic blasting plan will allow relentless explosions every 10 seconds, 24 hours a day, for potentially up to 400 days.

This destructive practice not only claims the lives of millions of marine creatures but also poses a severe threat to those reliant on sonar, with blasts reaching an ear-splitting 250 decibels.

Following the success of Surfrider’s previous paddle out in 2019, which drew over 3,000 surfers and locals, this event promises to be even larger.

We will paddle out at midday and gather in the water beneath a striking 144m2 flag, symbolising our collective stance against this environmental injustice.

Paddle-outs serve as a poignant reminder of the beauty of our oceans and the urgent need to protect them. With the Southern Ocean facing grave destruction from offshore oil and gas activities, it’s crucial that we stand together as a community to halt seismic blasting.
