We respectfully acknowledge that our adventure traverses on Kaurna Land traditionally owned by the Kaurna People.

Join Big Heart Adventures as they explore a section of the Pioneer Women’s Trail through the Adelaide Hills!

The cost of this walk is $60pp (plus Eventbrite booking fee), which includes bus transport and afternoon tea.

The Pioneer Women’s Trail follows the journey of early settlers (in particular, women and girls) who regularly carried fruit and other supplies from Hahndorf to the city.

What to Expect

The bus will drop you off at Verdun, where you’ll walk approximately 22km back to Beaumont along the Pioneer Women’s Trail. Allow 6 to 7 hours for this section.

You will enjoy a mix of country roads and bush trails as you walk from Verdun through Bridgewater, parts of Cox Creek, Mt George Conservation Park, Stirling, Crafers, Cleland Conservation Park, and back to our cars at Beaumont.

The walk is rated as moderate, with some gradual climbs and descents. A few sections may be slippery underfoot. Hiking poles are recommended.

Bus Meet Spot

Meet at 8.15am for an 8.30am bus departure. The bus departs from Dashwood Road in Beaumont. You will receive instructions and a map on how to get to this location 24-48 hours before the event. There is plenty of street parking, but please allow plenty of time to arrive and park. There is a toilet located at the bus meeting location.

The bus will then take us to Verdun to begin the walk.
