Serial legend, natural historian and broadcaster Sir David Attenborough just jumped on Instagram.

Grabbing the handle @davidattenborough (why’d you drop the ‘Sir’?), David posted one video, an IGTV, to deliver a message:

‘Continents are on fire. Glaciers are melting. Coral reefs are dying… The list goes on and on’

Morbid, but true. Instagram isn’t usually the kind of place you’d find a 94 year old, but David knows that it’s one of the best ways to reach people these days.

Well, his film team knows. They’re the ones behind his new Netflix film A Life On Our Planet and they’re managing the IG.

Safe to say that they’ve knocked it out of the park. With 2.3 million followers in less than a day, and only one post, David is trending towards proper Insta-legend status.

Kind of to be expected from someone who’s spent a lifetime being a legend. Fingers crossed I get a follow back.
