Shedding a tear that you can’t get out to your fave adventure film fest at the moment? ~ sniffs ~ Us too.

But I’ll let you in on a little secret. You can recreate a film festival in your own home. Yes, that’s right.

These top-notch film fests from around the world are streaming a whole bunch of adventure clips to get you 100% stoked, all from the comfort of your couch. Consider it a private screening. Whip out the popcorn maker, melt some butter, snuggle onto the couch (or even better, into your loungeroom tent setup) and tuck in.

Port Fairy Adventure Film Fest

Living legends and film fest curators, Leon and Athena Morton, have created not one, but TWO free 90-minute compilations of their favourite flicks from last year’s inaugural, and hugely successful, Port Fairy Adventure Film Festival. Trust me, I was there. It was awesome.

These compilations include all of the award winners, and rumour has it, there’ll be more released in the coming weeks, including an adventure playlist for kids, just in case their energy levels were dropping in the slightest from all that time indoors.

Banff Mountain Film Fest

One of the most prestigious and well-known adventure film fests around, and now you can have it all up in your lounge room. Banff Mountain Film Festival isn’t usually on until the start of November, so hasn’t actually been cancelled yet. But that hasn’t stopped them from wanting to share the stoke in these self-iso times.

To get you hyped for the fezzy later in the year, the films that became finalists in the 2019 and 2018 festivals are now available to watch online. Yeeeeew!

London Surf Film Fest

Surf? In London? Not likely. But a surf film fest on your own screen at home? Yes please!

London Surf Film Festival, now answering to ‘Lockdown’ Surf Film Festival, has found a new way to keep the festival kicking in an online format as similar to real life as possible. A curated selection of surf cinema will be available to stream online from a specific date and time, for 24 hours only. That way you know that groms, kooks and frothers worldwide will all be surfing the net at the same time. Consider it a party wave.

There are still seven films to be screened with times and dates to be announced, so keep checking the site as meticulously as you check the surf.

Cradle Mountain Film Fest

Unfortunately, this year’s Cradle Mountain Film Festival was supposed to be last weekend before being cancelled. But it’s not like the good people of Tassie to leave you high and dry like that. From April 4th (that’s tomorrow!), the entire 2020 film playlist will be available for viewing on the Cradle Mountain Film Festival youtube channel, woohoo!

They’re still taking votes for the People’s Choice Award, so grab a pen and paper and take some notes while you watch to your Explorer heart’s content.

Other Festivals To Keep Tabs On

Mountainfilm Festival

Mountainfilm Festival have announced that they’re postponing their screenings and moving them online for ticket holders. All the nitty-gritty details are still in the works, but it’s certainly worth keeping a keen eye on.
