Get your housemates on the blower, grab the sweet ‘n’ salty popcorn and book the couch from 6pm – The North Face has a new backcountry ski film premiering tonight.

EAST WEST follows the journey of badass female backcountry skiers, Janina Kuzma, Anna Smoothy and Ayako Kuroda, as they make their way across New Zealand’s Southern Alps, up and over the Main Divide, from east to west.

Their journey begins at the Liebig Range and ends with a gruelling exit through the receding Fox Glacier, with plenty of nasty weather and challenging ski traverses along the way. Praise be the God of backcountry huts!

EAST WEST has been touring film festivals around the world, from Aus and NZ to Canada and Austria, and is now ready to go truly global, with its online premiere at 6pm AEST tonight!

The film’s part of a larger ski film series, ‘A Winter Affair’, all about exploring those unknown ski lines in the far-flung corners of the earth.

Set yourself a reminder on YouTube so you don’t bloody miss it! It’ll have you dreaming of next winter already.
