Name // Kel Morales (@kemikulz)

Hometown // Originally from the Philippines, been living in Sydney for 3years now in the Inner West.

Day Job // IT professional

Camera and lenses // I’m mainly using Olympus OMD-EM5 with 12-40mm 2.8 PRO Lens which is perfect for outdoors because it’s weathersealed. Also using 17mm and 45mm 1.8 lenses; and sometimes GoPro4.

InspirationS // Nature inspires me, a lot. Seeing photos these amazing and beautiful places being explored by other people makes me want to just go on adventures all the time. I’ve always loved discovering and exploring new places and it makes me feel alive. It makes me realize how big the world is and that there are a lot of opportunities out there.

I love taking on challenges and getting out of my comfort zone. I also always strive to be able to capture the beauty of a place (even though seeing it personally is definitely more rewarding!) and share it to other people, and maybe I can inspire them to also get out and explore more.

Dream photography location in Australia // I’ve been to the outback twice but I’m still keen to go and explore more – maybe NSW or WA outback next time. The outback is such just an amazing place to explore and shoot in, every area is just different. Another dream area to shoot would be in Cradle Mountain in Tasmania to catch some Aurora Australis.

Microadventures with @kemikulz 1/5 Taking a rest in the Lost Worlds Lookout, Glenbrook NSW "After a week's worth of sitting down in front of the computer, I always look forward to the weekend to go exploring, sit down in front of a scenic view, relax, breathe in and absorb the beauty of the surroundings. It doesn't matter if it's just a short trek, a long coastal walk or a full weekend roadtrip, as long as I go somewhere and take on an adventure. Going on these adventures helps me clear my mind, makes me appreciate life even more and remember that there is more to it than the monotony of a daily routine". #weareexplorers

Microadventures with @kemikulz 2/5 Abandoned tunnel hunting in the Old Zigzag Railway, Clarence NSW "Abandoned infrastructures have always been of great interest to me and I'm always on the hunt for new abandoned places to explore. To be able to see man made infrastructures being reclaimed by nature is fascinating. Exploring this type of places also gives me a sense of history - a glimpse of how people functioned over a certain period and how things have changed through time prompting them to leave what they have built". #weareexplorers

Microadventures with @kemikulz 3/5 Chasing sunset at Curracurrong Falls, RNP "When you surround yourself with friends who share the same passion of going on adventures, there will always be new places to explore. Ventured to Curracurrong Falls in the Royal National Park recently with these lads. We got lost in the track quite a bit but we're still able to reach the falls in time for sunset and head back to the car before it gets really dark. I think that it's good to get lost (but not too lost!) when exploring to be able to appreciate the place better. Stuff like this makes the adventures more exciting and memorable". #weareexplorers

Microadventures with @kemikulz 4/5 Feels like walking on the moon in Bombo Headland, Kiama NSW "It's surprising that just a couple of hours away from Sydney, you can find places where you'll feel that you've been transported into another planet. Walking through the basalt columns in the Bombo Headlands just gives you exactly that feeling. There's a lot of amazing places to explore in NSW, it's just a matter of choosing which one you explore next". #weareexplorers

Microadventures with @kemikulz 5/5 Stargazing in Batlow, NSW "On our way to Laurel Hill during our #lhsquadtrip, we stopped by the town of Batlow and we were treated to the amazing view of the night sky. Without the light pollution brought upon by city lights, the sky was littered with countless stars. The great thing about going out on roadtrips and adventures is that you don't know what you'll expect to see. Along the way, you can stumble upon things so always keep a look out for interesting areas you can stop at while on the road". #weareexplorers
